Recently, Minecraft (PC) hit 10,000,000 sales. That's a big number. 10,000,000 people who bought the game.
Immediately afterwards, Minecraft Pocket Edition (iOS/Android) hit 10,000,000 sales. That's still a big number.
If you add these numbers together, you get 20,000,000. That's an even bigger number. We had to celebrate these big numbers somehow, so Mojang threw a surprise trip without telling any of us any details at all. I'm so happy that they did this. Here's a summary that I wrote up of what happened each day; I don't want to ever forget what happened!
We woke up, went to the mojang offices. Saw some limos and a huge van outside, nobody knew what was happening. People took our luggage and checked us off their lists. We got told to get into the limos which we were most definitely not going to refuse! We had no idea where we were going, but it stopped outside of a small airport, where some people told us to get onto this small 8-person private jet.
The flight didn't take long, we had to stop for fuel along the way, but we still had no idea where we were going. Eventually when we started the final descent we started to guess italy or france from the looks above, turns out we were in Cannes! We found out that we were going to Monte Carlo, Monaco, and were going to go there in style. We went outside and 15+ sports cars come darting towards us and park alongside the path. All the drivers get out and we're told to pick one!
Neither me or Ola could drive so we hopped into the limos instead, but then we found out that there's a 2-person car free and we can have a driver, so Ola took that and I stayed in the limo. It was lots of fun, people kept taking photos thinking there were movie stars or something inside. When we got to the airport we had some icecream on top of the roof of Cafe de Paris. Later we borrowed the tourist train thing and took it to grab dinner at some fancy place.
Oh man. Tuesday. Again, we had no idea what was going to happen, just that limos were pulling up to take us somewhere fancy, that we needed swimming clothes + dinner clothes, and there's going to be a no-shoes-policy. The limos took us to the harbour where we caught a small boat to take us to this really, really big yacht about 5 minutes away. Apparently this was the biggest yacht we could rent on the mediterranean sea, and came from Greece for us. It had a jacuzzi and 3 jetskis!
Once everybody had arrived, the yacht took off to Cannes whilst everybody got comfortable on board. It was really sunny and hot so most people just took to the jacuzzi or sunbeds, but me and Ola went exploring, met the captain and saw the control room. Very very fancy! Halfway to Cannes, the yacht stopped and the jetskis were deployed onto the sea. Hell yes! I immediately queued up and couldn't wait to try.
When I got hold of one, I immediately took off and oh my god these jetskis are so much fun. Seriously. They look scary, and they probably are scary if you think about it, but it doesn't matter. The fun outweighs the scariness. I sped around in the sea for a bit whilst a smaller boat was being set up for waterskis (so I couldn't come back until it's finished) and had a little fun with the other guys out at sea. Eventually I came back but then I realized it was just too much fun so I went again... but that time I fell off somehow! I guess I went too fast whilst turning. Some other people managed to fall off earlier but they got back up no problem - but me, I had to go and tip the bloody jetski upside down! If you do that... you can't fix it by yourself... I had to be rescued. Still fun though, I'd do it again and again! The "go forward" button is this trigger you pull with your right hand, the same way bikes have their breaks, so my instinct when I fell over was to hit that which probably made it even worse. I found myself pulling it even when I was underwater and upside down before I realized what happened, so that was kinda strange. Did I mention how fun it was though? Oh man.
After we had fun with that, we showered and had dinner on the back of the yacht whilst it continued onwards to Cannes, where it would then reverse course and travel back to Monaco. With all of us distracted at the pretty sights and the silly food on the lower deck, the top deck was secretly being transformed into a party spot and DJ Röyksopp was waiting for us upstairs. When we found out, the party begun and lots of fun was had all around. Me and Ola went exploring some more because it was cold and we weren't super excited about partying, and we had a look around the inside of the yacht - and oh my god, it's so fancy. Like the most fancy hotel you can think of, but on the sea, complete with salon, gym, spa, etc. We stayed in the lobby for a bit and then decided to go explore Monte Carlo before it got too late. We left the boat, and set off adventuring.
Just opposite our hotel, Hotel de Paris, was the famous Monte Carlo Casino. We had a look around, feeling magnificantly under dressed with all the super formal people inside, and went back off exploring the rest of Monte Carlo. We realized that we could probably see the yacht from our hotel, and then found this little bridge that gave us a great view of the yacht all lit up far away in the sea. I don't know how far we were, it was pretty small so I don't think it was that close, but we could hear the music and it was extremely loud even where we were. I was glad we got off the boat when we did!
We checked out of the hotel and some unusual taxis were waiting for us outside. We hopped in, and realized it was plastered with helicopter related advertisements or business cards etc - a pretty subtle clue as to what would happen next. It took us to a heliport and we boarded a helicopter! I've never been in one before, but oh wow it was fantastic. Extremely smooth and felt so amazing. It took us to some remote chateau and we had dinner with the most amazing view on top of a mountain. The chef was going to make hamburgers for the very first time - apparently he was super excited and couldn't wait. The food was yummy and the hamburgers were amazingly fancy, very cool!
A helicopter took us back to the VIP airport that we landed in, at Cannes. We took a private jet home again, same one as before, and taxis were waiting for us to take us home. Yay home!
